Application Process

Organisations wishing to be registered with Assurco must make an application. Assurco uses web forms to capture key information about the organisation and the scope of its certification.

Application Review

The Application data, along with any supplementary information, will be reviewed to ensure that:

  1. The information is sufficient to develop and audit programme.
  2. Any known difference in understanding between us and the applicant is resolved.
  3. We have competence and ability to perform the certification activities.
  4. the scope of certification sought, the site(s) of the applicant organisation’s operations, time required to complete audits and any other points influencing the certification activity are taken into account. (language, safety conditions, threats to impartiality, etc.).

An internal Application Review will be completed and recorded.

Audit Programme

Using the Assurco Audit Time Calculations, an audit plan for the full certification cycle will be developed to clearly identify the audit activities required to demonstrate the client’s management system fulfils the requirements of the standard(s).  All requirements will be covered.

The audit programme for the initial certification shall include a two-stage initial audit, surveillance audits in the first and second years following the certification decision, and a recertification audit in the third year prior to expiration of certification.

The first three-year certification cycle begins with the certification decision. Subsequent cycles begin with the recertification decision.

The determination of the audit programme and any subsequent adjustments shall consider the size of the client, the scope and complexity of its management system, products and processes as well as demonstrated level of management system effectiveness and the results of any previous audits.
