Calculating Audit Time
Assurco uses established standards and guidance to calculate audit time based on the scope of the certificate or audit programme.
Determining audit time
The process for determining the necessary audit time (including criteria, justification, and expert consultation time) is described in our Assurco Certification Process.
We will use the following documents to determine audit time:
- IAF’s MD5 Determination Of Audit Time Of Quality, Environmental, And Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems,
- ISO/IEC 27006 Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of information security management systems,
Multi-site sampling
Our Assurco Certification Process describes our documented sampling programme and rationale to ensure a thorough audit when a client has the same activity at multiple sites. However, we are aware that sampling is prohibited for some activities in some standards.
We will use the following document to determine audit time for organisations with multiple sites:
- IAF MD1: Mandatory Document for the Audit and Certification of a Management System Operated by a Multi-Site Organization,
Multiple management systems standards
When planning audits of multiple standards, we ensure there is adequate auditing time.
We will use the following document to determine audit time for organisations with multiple management systems:
- IAF MD11: IAF Mandatory Document for the Application of ISO/IEC 17021-1 for Audits of Integrated Management Systems.
